Realizing what's important

Today I got a call from Brian telling me he was in the hospital. He was in a group that was attacked by 107mm rockets. (I've been informed they are huge) He was unconscious for a while. He will be fine. He's bruised but otherwise intact! He has to pass a memory test on Mon(he failed today's). Things could have been so much worse. It makes you stop and evaluate your life and how important the things we take for granted are. I have thanked my Heavenly Father countless times today for the gift of still having Brian. I would be lost without him. He is the center of our world.
I love you more than chocolate, lovey!
That's the biggest smile you'll ever catch on camera!

Before he left 15 months ago

Shying from the camera. No that's not snow, it's SAND!! yuck

Brian is the best friend I could ever ask for. I don't know what I did in heaven to deserve him but I will take it. These next few weeks will seem to go slow until he gets home towards the beginning of June.

Oh my gosh Kristal!!!! I am so thankful he is OK! My parents just told me what happened (their story was a little more tramatic than yours though). I'll call you and get the whole scoop. I had a prayer and thanked Heavenly Father for protecting him. I can't even imagine how much you guys can't even wait to see him in June. Sad for us, but if it were me I know there would be no other place I'd rather be. I love you so much, Happy Mother's Day and I'm so thankful Brian is OK

Hi I'm a good friend of Linae's and she told me about your story. It really puts things in perspective. I thought I had it hard with my husband living out of state and leaving me with our two little boys here until he's able to move back home with work. I can see how fortunate I am from seeing what you go through every day and living with the fear of getting a call with bad news.

You are amazing! I'm really happy to hear that he will be ok and I will pray that he comes home safe and sound. Happy Mothers Day!

Hi, I am a friend of Linae McCoy's. She told me what happened with your husband. I am so happy to hear that he is ok and will be coming home soon. God bless him for having the courage to serve our country and God bless your family for having the strength to hold down the fort while he is away. I cannot even imagine how hard that is on everyone. Again, glad to hear he came out OK. Hang in there!
